More About Nina!
Where will you see Nina?
At Kentucky Avenue School providing Community Inclusion Coaching to students
Nina earned a B.A. in Social Work from the University of Washington and has been working with children with special needs for over a decade. She has diverse experience teaching, tutoring, facilitating after-school programming, working with foster children in residential treatment, being a one-on-one learning/emotional support aide, and supporting public school teachers with customized professional development geared towards effective, trauma-informed, and inclusive classroom and behavior management strategies. She is passionate about advocating for and empowering kids who have diagnoses, trauma, and challenging behavior.
From her years of experience at the intersection of education and social work, Nina has found that genuine, caring, intentional relationships are a powerful therapeutic tool. She leads with this relational approach as the basis of all her work with children and their communities. She enjoys building on children’s unique strengths to help them develop their social-emotional and self-regulation skills. She is excited to focus on the needs of individual children as a Community Inclusion Coach.
When she’s not working, Nina enjoys making art and music, spending time outdoors, and lounging with her partner and cats.
