More About Erin!
Where will you see Erin?
At Kentucky Avenue School applying her extensive years of experience and expertise as a Community Inclusion Coach to students
Erin earned her Master's Degree in Education from Sarah Lawrence College and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Washington and Jefferson College. She has been a classroom teacher for over 25 years in various settings and grade levels. She has also worked as a resource counselor for neurodivergent college students at Concordia College, a summer camp counselor for two summers at a camp for neurodivergent children and teens, a part-time Behavior Specialist Consultant with Wraparound services for six years, and most recently has worked as a Learning Support Teacher for the past two years in an elementary school. At that point, she recognized her strength with an interest in working primarily with individual children as a Community Inclusion Coach in schools.
Erin utilizes an individualized approach for each client based upon and building from her careful observations of their particular strengths and interests. Her experience at Sarah Lawrence College has taught her to support children academically, socially, and emotionally by closely observing each of them and to build programming accordingly for each child, rather than to teach with a one-size-fits-all approach. Working as a Community Inclusion Coach gives her the opportunity to use these skills and further develop this approach.
Erin's experience as a classroom teacher coupled with experience working one-on-one with neurodivergent children also helps her to work closely with teachers to support clients in the classroom setting.
