More About Phoebe!

Phoebe is a Pittsburgh native, who earned her B.S. in Psychology at Allegheny College. She is currently working on obtaining her Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Chatham University.

Phoebe started working for April all the way back in 2018 when she volunteered and then interned at Quest Therapeutic Camp. In 2019, she was hired as a counselor at Quest where she worked with the camp group that had the highest level of social and communication needs. In total, Phoebe was at Quest Camp for 4 years and was an asset to the program related to her knowledge and respect for neurodiversity.

From May 2022 to October 2022, Phoebe worked as a Milieu Therapist on the Autism and Developmental Disorder unit at Western Psychiatric Clinic.

Phoebe is passionate about using strength-based approaches that she learned throughout her time at Quest. She wholeheartedly believes in the power of positive psychology and strives to help those in need. When she graduates, she would like to continue to work with the neurodiverse population as a counselor and continue her advocacy in that area.

In the fall of 2022, Phoebe joined Connection Counseling in order to co-facilitate a new social skills group that is centered around Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). She has been playing D&D since 2018 and began to run her own campaigns in 2020. Phoebe is good at navigating the online sphere and has some knowledge of online culture that allows her to connect with others who have similar experiences. Phoebe is helped to facilitate the gaming, outing, and art social skills groups at Connection Counseling as part of their practicum placement.
