Community Inclusion Coaching

Community Inclusion Coaching (CIC) is direct and individualized support provided to children, adolescents, and adults in the real world. CIC is designed to help individuals experience inclusion when participating in community activities. It may be implemented in a variety of settings such as (but not limited to) participation in, school, after school programs, team sports, community classes or local programs,  as well as large social events such as weddings, job fairs, college fairs, family gatherings etc. It can also be utilized to learn specific life skills such as grocery shopping, riding the bus, or working out.

How does it work?

A trained CIC who has a Master’s degree in either Counseling or Social Work provides direct one on one support to individuals based on the goals identified by the client and/or their caregivers. The CIC provides the appropriate level of support connected to the needs of each unique person and each unique situation. Additionally, the CIC receives guidance and scheduled on site support from Aprilynn Artz, LPC on a continual basis. Think of it as wraparound services without all of the red tape, and staff who have years of experience and training.

When Quest camp ended, my son went back to school and was immediately struggling with virtual school due to the pandemic. I, unfortunately, was not blessed with the gift of patience in life, and I remember reaching out to April for a cry out for help. She was right on it and we initiated a Zoom meeting. She was so helpful and had the great idea of introducing Jordan (CIC) to our lives. That to this day was the greatest plan and idea she had for us. Jordan has been wonderful with our son and so helpful. He knows how to keep him focused on the tasks at hand, and the two of them have a great relationship. My son trusts that he can tell Jordan things and that Jordan will be able to provide appropriate advice to him. If I am struggling to get through to my son on something, I can reach out to Jordan about it, and he can also help. I am so happy Jordan came into our lives and has been such a blessing to my son.
